British hardwoods such as ash, hazel and blackthorn are coppiced in the traditional manner at the manufacturer's woodland .in the West Country in the UK. This process produces ideal raw material for walking sticks. The cut wood is dried, straightened and finished by hand to produce distinctive walking sticks of great individual character.
As this is a natural product the appearance of the one you receive may vary to the sticks shown on our website. The shape and size of the handle and the diameter of the shaft may vary a little bit. In our opinion this lends to the beauty and individuality of a walking stick and the height of the stick is much easier to keep the same one and always is the same as the one described on our website.
If you have specific measurements or a particular appearance in mind then please contact us and we can send you pictures of the stock we have so that you can choose yourself.
Sticks such as the coppiced knobsticks, the crosshead walking sticks, pistol grip canes, thumbsticks, hiking sticks, the antler topped sticks and of course the hand carved and handmade walking sticks all fall into this category. They are collectively known as "country sticks" as they are "grown" in the woodland and are all slightly different.
If you order any accessories to go with any of these sticks such as a rubber ferrule to fit over the steel tip, then you don't need to work out the size need, we will send one to fit with your order.
Our range of country sticks are very hard wearing and are meant to be well-used friends and companions for outdoor country pursuits. They make great gifts for birthdays, Christmas and Father's Day or nice additions to a growing walking stick collection.
