Rams horns lend themselves perfectly to walking stick toppers. The horns are heated, bent and shaped in quite a lengthy process to get the beautiful effects seen above.
Just like walking stick shanks, ram horns need to be stored in a dry place for 2-3 years before the processing begins.
The horn is then boiled for fifteen minutes and then placed in a press to get the 2-dimensional shape required. The horn is then removed from the vice and then shaped, sanded and polished and then a hole is drilled so that the handle can be attached to the shank.
