This deal is part of the so called “Cyber Monday” which you will notice many online companies are promoting. Whether you like it or hate it, you could pick up some good bargains this week across the web and save some ££££s for Christmas.

“Cyber Monday” was invented by a U.S shopping community called Shop.org, an association of retailers selling online and was first used in 2005. From its beginnings in the U.S, Cyber Monday then came to Canada and France in 2008, Portugal in 2009, Germany in 2010 and the United Kingdom in 2009.

The last Monday of November is called Cyber Monday because online retailers noticed a trend in shopping sales, namely a definite start date to increased sales for Christmas.

The figures for sales on Cyber Monday on completely bonkers! Last year (2011) shoppers spent a staggering £456 million in just 24 hours, £19 million per hour, a 14 percent rise from 2010. And these are just the figures for online shopping! I wonder what the 2012 figures will be?
